LSU GPA Calculator
How to Use the LSU GPA Calculator?
1. Current GPA and Credits (Optional)
If you’re a returning student, you can enter your current cumulative GPA and the total number of credits you’ve completed so far. This allows the calculator to factor in your previous academic performance.
2. Adding Courses
- Enter the name of your course in the “Course Name” field.
- Input the number of credit hours for the course in the “Credits” field. At LSU, most courses are worth 3 credits, but this can vary.
- Select your expected or received grade from the dropdown menu. The calculator includes LSU’s grading scale, from A (4.0) to F (0.0), including plus and minus grades.
- Click the “Add Course” button to include this course in your calculation.
3. Calculating Your GPA
- Once you’ve added all your courses, click the “Calculate GPA” button.
- The calculator will display your GPA, rounded to two decimal places.
- Below the GPA, you’ll see a brief explanation of what your GPA means in terms of academic performance.
4. Interpreting Results:
The tool provides a color-coded result and a brief explanation to help you understand your academic standing. For example:
- A GPA of 3.8 or higher is considered excellent.
- A GPA between 3.0 and 3.5 indicates good performance.
- A GPA below 2.0 suggests that academic support may be needed.
Remember, while this calculator provides a good estimate of your GPA, it’s always best to confirm your official GPA with LSU’s registrar or your academic advisor. They can provide the most accurate and up-to-date information about your academic standing.
By regularly using this GPA calculator, LSU students can stay informed about their academic progress, set realistic goals, and make informed decisions about their course load and study strategies.
