How to Use the Mississippi Paycheck Calculator
Step 1: Select Pay Type
Choose between “Hourly” or “Salary” depending on how you are compensated. This selection will determine how the calculator processes your income information.

Step 3: Specify Hours Worked
If you’re an hourly employee, enter the number of hours you work per week. For salaried employees, this field is used to calculate overtime if applicable, so enter your standard work week hours.
Step 4: Choose Pay Frequency
Select how often you get paid from the dropdown menu. Options include weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly.
Step 5: Select Filing Status
Choose your tax filing status: single, married, or head of household. This affects your tax withholding calculations.
Step 6: Enter Allowances
Input the number of allowances you claim on your W-4 form. This affects the amount of taxes withheld from your paycheck.
Step 7: Calculate Your Paycheck
Click the “Calculate Paycheck” button to generate your paycheck estimate. The calculator will process your information and display a detailed breakdown of your gross pay, taxes, deductions, and net pay.
Step 8: Review the Results
Examine the calculation results, which include your gross pay, federal and state taxes, Social Security and Medicare contributions, and your final net pay. The tool also provides a brief explanation of the calculations for your reference.
