Korean Age Calculator
What is Korean Age?
Korean age is a unique age calculation system used in South Korea. In this system, a person is considered to be one year old at birth, and everyone's age increases by one year on New Year's Day, regardless of their actual birthday. This means that a person's Korean age is typically one or two years older than their international age.
How to use the Korean Age Calculator?
1. Enter your date of birth
Click on the "Date of Birth" input field and select your birth date from the calendar that appears. Make sure to choose the correct year, month, and day.
2. (Optional) Enter a calculation date
If you want to calculate your Korean age for a specific date, click on the "Calculation Date" input field and select the desired date. If you leave this field empty, the calculator will use today's date by default.
3. Click the "Calculate Korean Age" button
After entering the required information, click the blue "Calculate Korean Age" button to get your results. The calculator will display both your Korean age and your international age. The Korean age is calculated based on the year of birth and the calculation date, while the international age is based on the exact number of years since your birth date.
Your Korean age will always be at least one year higher than your international age. This is because you start at age 1 when you're born in the Korean system, and your age increases by one every New Year's Day, not on your birthday.
For example, if you were born on December 31, 2022, your Korean age on January 1, 2023, would be 2 years old, while your international age would be just 1 day old.
This calculator is a useful tool for anyone interested in Korean culture, planning to visit South Korea, or simply curious about how age is calculated in different parts of the world. It provides a quick and easy way to understand your age in the Korean system and how it compares to your international age.
