What is a Kua Number?
A Kua Number, also known as the Life Gua Number or Ming Gua Number, is a fundamental concept in Feng Shui, an ancient Chinese practice of harmonizing individuals with their surrounding environment. This number is derived from a person’s birth year and gender, and it is used to determine their personal lucky and unlucky directions.
In Feng Shui philosophy, each person has four favorable directions and four unfavorable directions based on their Kua Number. These directions are believed to influence various aspects of life, including health, wealth, relationships, and personal growth. By aligning oneself with the favorable directions and avoiding the unfavorable ones, it is believed that one can enhance their overall well-being and success in life.
Kua Numbers range from 1 to 9, with the exception of 5, which is replaced by 2 for males and 8 for females. These numbers are further divided into two groups: the East Group (numbers 1, 3, 4, and 9) and the West Group (numbers 2, 6, 7, and 8). Each group has its own set of favorable directions.
