5. Calculate Your BMI: Click the “Calculate BMI” button. The calculator will compute your BMI based on the input values and display the results.

Understanding the BMI Results

After clicking the “Calculate BMI” button, the results will be displayed on the screen:

1. BMI Value: Your BMI value will be shown with a bold and highlighted text indicating your Body Mass Index. This value is a numerical representation of your body weight relative to your height.

2. BMI Category

The category corresponding to your BMI will be displayed. The categories are:

  • Underweight: BMI less than 18.5
  • Healthy weight: BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 (highlighted in green)
  • Overweight: BMI between 25 and 29.9 (highlighted in yellow)
  • Obese: BMI 30 or greater (highlighted in red)

3. Suggestion:If your BMI falls into the “Overweight” or “Obese” category, a suggestion will be provided indicating the healthy weight range for your height. This helps you understand what weight range is considered healthy for you and can guide you towards achieving it.

Example:

If you are a 30-year-old male, weighing 85 kg, and with a height of 175 cm, you would:

  • Select “Male” for gender.
  • Enter “30” in the age field.
  • Enter “85” in the weight field and select “kg”.
  • Enter “175” in the height field and select “cm”.
  • Click the “Calculate BMI” button.

The calculator will compute your BMI and display the result, for example:

  • Your BMI is: 27.76
  • Category: Overweight (highlighted in yellow)
  • Suggestion: To reach a healthy weight, your weight should be between 56.7 – 76.4 kg.

By following these steps, you can easily determine your BMI and understand whether you are at a healthy weight. The color-coded categories and suggestions provide clear guidance on what the results mean for your health.
