How to use the AP Biology Score Calculator?
1. Multiple Choice Section
Enter the number of correct answers you got (or expect to get) out of the total 60 multiple-choice questions. The calculator will automatically convert this to a weighted score out of 100 points.
2. Free Response Section
Input your scores for each of the six free response questions:
- Two long questions (out of 10 points each)
- Four short questions (out of 4 points each)
The calculator will sum these scores to give you a total out of 50 points.
3. Calculate Your Score
Click the “Calculate Score” button to see your results.
The calculator will combine your Multiple Choice and Free Response scores to give you a total out of 150 points.
Based on this total, it will estimate your AP score on the 1-5 scale.
4. Interpret Your Results
The calculator will display your estimated AP score, along with a breakdown of your performance in each section.
You’ll see your total score, multiple-choice score, and free-response score.
An explanation of what your AP score means will be provided, along with some advice based on your performance.
This calculator provides an estimate based on typical score distributions. The actual scoring can vary slightly from year to year based on the specific exam and the overall performance of all test-takers. However, it’s a valuable tool for setting goals, tracking progress, and managing expectations for the AP Biology exam.
