How to Use the Dunk Calculator
Step 1: Enter Your Height
Input your height in inches. This measurement should be taken from the floor to the top of your head while standing straight.
Step 2: Input Your Standing Reach
Measure and enter your standing reach in inches. This is the height you can reach with your arms extended upwards while standing flat on the ground.
Step 3: Confirm the Rim Height
The standard basketball rim height is set to 120 inches (10 feet), but you can adjust this if you’re practicing with a different height.
Step 4: Specify Your Palm Size
Enter your palm size in inches. This is typically around 6 inches for an average adult, but you can measure from the base of your palm to the tip of your middle finger for accuracy.
Step 5: Calculate and Analyze Results
Click the “Calculate” button to process your inputs. The calculator will display your minimum vertical leap required, along with additional information such as jumping energy, initial jumping speed, and hang time.
