What is MDCAT Aggregate Score?

MDCAT Aggregate Score is a composite score used for admissions to medical and dental colleges in Pakistan. It combines a student’s performance in three key areas: the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT), their Intermediate (FSc) or equivalent examination, and their Matriculation (SSC) or equivalent examination. This aggregate score is calculated using a specific formula set by the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) and is used to rank applicants for admission to medical and dental programs.

The MDCAT Aggregate Score is crucial because it provides a standardized way to evaluate applicants from different educational backgrounds. It takes into account not only the specialized knowledge tested in the MDCAT but also the student’s overall academic performance throughout their secondary and higher secondary education.

How to Use the MDCAT Aggregate Calculator?

1. Enter Your MDCAT Score
Start by entering your MDCAT marks in the first input field. This should be your score out of a total of 200 marks. The MDCAT is a standardized test that assesses your knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and English. It carries the highest weightage in the aggregate formula, accounting for 50% of your total score.

2. Input Your FSc (Intermediate) Marks
In the second field, enter your FSc or equivalent marks out of 1100. If you’ve completed A-levels or another equivalent qualification, you should use the converted marks provided by the Inter-Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC). The FSc score contributes 40% to your aggregate score, making it a significant component of your overall evaluation.

3. Provide Your Matric (SSC) Marks
Enter your Matriculation or equivalent marks in the third field, also out of 1100. Like the FSc marks, if you’ve completed O-levels or another equivalent, use the IBCC-converted marks. The Matric score accounts for 10% of your aggregate.

5. Calculate Your Aggregate
After entering all three scores, click the “Calculate Aggregate” button. The calculator will show your total MDCAT Aggregate Score as a percentage. This is the key figure used by medical colleges for their merit lists. Additionally, you’ll see a breakdown of how each component (MDCAT, FSc, and Matric) contributed to your final score.

This calculator only provides an accurate calculation based on the current PMC formula, but admission policies can change. Always verify the most current admission requirements with the specific institutions you’re interested in. Additionally, some institutions may have additional criteria beyond just the aggregate score, such as interviews or quotas for certain categories of applicants.

By using this MDCAT Aggregate Calculator, you can gain valuable insights into your standing for medical college admissions in Pakistan, helping you make informed decisions about your educational future.
